BSC Young Boys Teams Up with ZATAP to Support Amnesty International through Jersey Auction

on April 4, 2024

BERN, SWITZERLAND | BSC Young Boys, the leading Swiss football club, is proud to announce a special initiative in partnership with ZATAP, the Swiss-based sports tech startup. Together, they are releasing a project to leverage fan engagement’s power to support the human rights group, Amnesty International.

Under the banner of “Together Against Racism,” BSC Young Boys will auction off game-worn jerseys to fans, each powered by ZATAP. The proceeds from this auction will go directly to Amnesty International, championing the cause of diversity, cohesion, and solidarity. On April 4th, a significant day of action against racism and discrimination of all forms, BSC Young Boys players will wear the special jerseys during the YB – GC game.

The partnership between BSC Young Boys and ZATAP extends beyond this initiative, as it’s part of a larger effort to enhance fan engagement through “phygital” merchandise. By integrating ZATAP’s NFC tags into the club’s season kits, fans gain access to exclusive content and experiences simply by tapping their jerseys. On these special jerseys, fans will access exclusive content from each player who wore the jersey.

Jan Borgmann, Head of Merchandise at BSC Young Boys, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This collaboration with ZATAP is more than just bringing technology into the equation; it’s about enhancing the bond between the club and its fans. Our supporters can now experience the essence of Young Boys in a whole new way, and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront of this digital transformation.”

Sergio Muster, Co-Founder of ZATAP, shares, “We are thrilled to work alongside BSC Young Boys. By combining digital innovation with the passion of football fans, we can make a real difference in promoting diversity and social justice.”

This partnership represents a commitment to using technology for social good while enriching the fan experience. Together, BSC Young Boys and ZATAP are paving the way for a new era of fan engagement and community involvement.
